Both beginners and advanced practitioners will find challenge!  And for everyone between 18 and ….. who wants to take Yoga and Delight to the next level at a great location.

Program

Since 2011 we have been able to create this unique concept in Umbria, Italy.  The program is half-board (breakfast and evening meals including wine and water included) and includes all 13 1.5-hour yoga and meditation classes. We use the yoga classes and meals together. But it is certainly also possible to travel together with a partner who does not participate in the Yoga classes.Do you have other plans or do you especially not want a program? Excellent! Nothing is necessary, everything is allowed: enjoying the art of living is our motto!

Every morning we start after a cup of tea and some light food with a 1.5 hour Yoga class (Power / Vinyasa Flow Yoga). After the lesson there is a delicious breakfast waiting for you. Every afternoon we end the day with 1.5 hours of Yin yoga and/or meditation (Yoga Nidra). This part is experienced by the participants as a very special extra.

In addition, we optionally offer a delicious wine tasting with lunch in a real Italian way. There is also the possibility of mountain biking and horse riding in the vicinity. Everything can be arranged by us. Hikers can also enjoy the most beautiful and sometimes challenging walks directly from the location.

Culture lovers will love the art and architecture, castles, churches and monasteries in medieval cities such as Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto and Spoleto. Scattered throughout the region you will find work by famous artists such as Giotto and Piero della Franscesca and the Umbrian painter Perugino.

In Tuscany you imagine yourself in another world: here the Renaissance reigns supreme. You will stroll through the streets of Montepulciano and Pienza, go shopping in Siena or plan a day trip to Florence. But also the natural hot springs of San Casciano dei Bagni are a worth a visit! Who doesn’t want to bathe in the open air like the Romans…

Yoga and Meditation

The Yoga classes (in English and Dutch) that are given in the morning are Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes. These lessons are for both beginners and advanced. The classes at the end of the day are a combination of Yin Yoga and mindfulness meditation. These lessons can be followed for all levels. Yoga Nidra is also an important part of our program. During the afternoon Yin classes Annemarie will not only teach you Yoga postures to restore and replenish but also deepen your knowledge of Yoga beyond the postures. You’ll find more insight in to yourself, your current situation and develop new stress reduction techniques.

Who are we?

Annemarie Braun

I would like to introduce myself to you: Annemarie Braun. My passion is to help people get the most out of life, both physically and mentally. That is why I became a Psychodynamic Therapist (Master Practitioner) and Yoga teacher (E-RYT 500). Since 2008 I have my own practice and previously (until mid 2020) owned my own Yoga studio. In addition to my practice for psychotherapy, I work as an English-speaking psychologist at the International Health Center in The Hague. I still teach on an average about 4 yoga / meditations lessons per week (online, hybrid and private classes) and provide mindfulness trainings both in-house and for patients of the affiliated GPs in the region. For more than 15 years I have been teaching yoga and meditation to people from all around the world and all ages.

Yoga for me is identical to life. In Yoga you will encounter everything on your mat that you encounter every day in your daily life. The things that run smoothly, but also feelings or thoughts that frustrate. Yoga teaches me to deal with this in a healthy way. My father is a Yoga teacher, so I practice yoga since I was 4 years old . Of course there have been periods in my life when Yoga came into the background but it was never really gone. My father taught Hatha Yoga and that was also the yoga form that I practiced myself. For more than 15 years

During my 6 year stay (1996-2002) in the United States (including New York and Chicago) I came in contact with Power (Ashtanga) Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga and these forms also won my heart. The strength, the dynamics but certainly also the down to earth perspective makes this form of Yoga so attractive to me. Shortly after that I was also introduced to Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga can be seen as the counterpart of the dynamic yoga forms such as Power / Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga. The dynamic forms can be seen as Yang yoga forms. Yin Yoga on its own or as a supplement to the yang yoga forms is an indispensable element within formerly my yoga studio and now my online and private yoga classes. Because Yin Yoga requires us to hold the poses for several minutes I am able to put my years of experience as a psychodynamic therapist and mindfulness trainer to use to take students along in mindfulness and breathing exercises during these quiet yoga postures. This way body and mind relax completely.

Rob Braun

Rob will be your host during your stay. Rob’s biggest passion is good food and wine! Rob is a vinologist, hobby chef, enthusiastic host but above all bon vivant! Rob will only be completely satisfied if you are. He will therefore be 100% committed to you this week and has only one wish: that you are enjoying yourself!
